Sleeping through the pandemic

Over 50% of adults report that their sleep has worsened during the pandemic (including individuals who have had COVID-19 and those who have not). Using a questionnaire completed in October 2021 and March 2022, we want to understand if sleep patterns and sleep quality may have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fatigue is the commonest symptom reported for COVID-10 – both in people who experienced a short illness and those who had longer symptoms (long COVID). The cause and impacts of this fatigue are poorly understood. Poor sleep contributes not only to fatigue and daytime drowsiness but also to physical can mental health more generally.
